The Turin Giants Bring In Former Italian National Team Boss Spalletti

Juventus have chosen former Azzurri head coach Luciano Spalletti as their manager for the rest of the term.

The 66-year-old replaces Igor Tudor, who was let go after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio on Sunday.

Tudor arrived at the club in March as Thiago Motta's replacement but departed after seven months after an eight-game winless streak.

Spalletti led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23 before taking charge of Italy, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup with Mancini at the helm.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 where they were knocked out in the last 16 by Switzerland.

Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June post a qualifying defeat against Norway, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla during the 3-1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday moving them to seventh position in the league - six points adrift of Napoli at the top after nine rounds.

In the Champions League, they sit 25th in the league phase, after recording one defeat and two ties in the initial three fixtures.
