19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time coach Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from March of that year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an improved serve.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a shot at the net, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
